dc.description | Antecedentes: las personas con cáncer son susceptibles a padecer alteraciones emocionales que podrían desencadenar trastornos psiquiátricos, sin embargo, son infradiagnosticados lo que afecta el manejo del paciente oncológico. Objetivo: determinar la prevalencia de trastornos Psiquiátricos en pacientes con enfermedades neoplásicas hospitalizados en SOLCA- Cuenca. Material y métodos: se realizó un estudio transversal con 264 pacientes con cáncer hospitalizados en SOLCA- Cuenca, se les aplicó previo consentimiento informado un formulario para la recolección de datos y la MINI Entrevista Neuropsiquiátrica Internacional. Se creó una base de datos en SPSS, los resultados se procesaron en el mismo y Epi Info versión 7, utilizando distribuciones de frecuencia, porcentaje, Odds Ratio, intervalo de confianza (IC) 95 % y valor de p. Resultados: las características relevantes de la población investigada fueron: 49.6 % personas de 41 y 64 años, 59.1 % mujeres, 57.6 % casados y 40.5 % instrucción primaria. Los trastornos psiquiátricos más frecuentes fueron: depresión 53.8 %, ansiedad 33.3 %, angustia 26.5 % y riesgo de suicidio 12.9 %, el sexo femenino mostró asociación significativa con el Episodio Depresivo Mayor (EDM), (OR: 2.157, IC 95 %: 1.309 – 3.554, p: 0.002), y trastorno de angustia, (OR: 3.015, IC 95 %: 1.614 – 5.631, p: 0.0003). Conclusiones: los trastornos psiquiátricos prevalentes se presentaron con mayor frecuencia en mujeres, demostrando una asociación estadísticamente significativa con EDM, y trastorno de angustia, también se presentaron en menores de 64 años, aquellos con pareja y que recibían monoterapia como tratamiento | es_ES |
dc.description.abstract | Background: people with cancer are highly susceptible to emotional alterations that could trigger psychiatric disorders, but they are underdiagnosed and this could affect the management of cancer patients. Objective: to determine the prevalence of psychiatric disorders in patients with neoplastic diseases hospitalized in SOLCA- Cuenca. Material and methods: a cross-sectional study was conducted with 264 cancer patients hospitalized in SOLCA Cuenca who were given prior informed consent form for data collection and the MINI International Neuropsychiatric Interview. A database was created in the SPSS program, the results were processed in the same and Epi Info version 7, using distributions of frequency, percentage, Odds Ratio, 95 % confidence interval (CI) and p value. Results: the relevant characteristics of the investigated population were: 49.6 % between 41 and 64 years old, 59.1 % female, 57.6 % married and 40.5 % primary education.
