| dc.description | Los caninos incluidos son aquellos dientes que una vez llegada su época normal de erupción no lo han logrado y permanecen en el interior de los maxilares, manteniendo la integridad de su saco pericoronario. Se considera tardía la erupción del canino después de los 12.3 años en niñas y 13.1 años en niños, muy tardía después de los 13.9 años en niñas y 14.6 años en niños, en el 95% de la población española. Se realizó un estudio observacional descriptivo basado en el análisis de radiografías panorámicas obtenidas de la base de datos del área de radiología de la Facultad de Odontología de la Universidad de Cuenca pertenecientes al período 2012-2016. Un total de 1605 fueron recolectadas, de las cuales 1005 calificaron como aptas para la investigación, mismas en las que se analizaron la existencia de caninos incluidos: maxilar superior, maxilar inferior o bimaxilar; así como su localización derecha, izquierda o bilateral. La prevalencia de caninos incluidos fue del 3%, en donde predominó el sexo femenino con el 52% mientras que en el sexo masculino fue del 48%. | dc.description.abstract | The canines included are those teeth that, once their normal time of eruption has arrived, have not yet reached them and remain inside the jaws, maintaining the integrity of their pericoronary sac. The canine eruption is considered late after 12.3 years in girls and 13.1 years in children, very late after 13.9 years in girls and 14.6 years in boys, in 95% of the Spanish population. A descriptive observational study was carried out based on the analysis of panoramic radiographs obtained from the database of the radiology area of the Faculty of Dentistry of the University of Cuenca, belonging to the period 2012-2016. A total of 1605 were collected, of which 1005 qualified as apt for the investigation, in which they analyzed the existence of canines including maxillary, mandibular or bimaxilar; as well as its right, left or bilateral location.
