Conocimientos, actitudes y prácticas del padre adolescente frente al embarazo en la Unidad Educativa Daniel Hermida Santa Ana 2016

Abstract

The knowledge, attitudes and practices of adolescent parents in relation to pregnancy are of different types and have varied over the years, in addition, due to the increase of the percentages of precocious pregnancies in adolescents it is necessary that the father Adolescent has the knowledge and his behavior entails assuming responsibility with paternity. Objective: To determine the knowledge, attitudes and practices of the teenage father in front of the pregnancy in the Educational Unit "Daniel Hermida", Santa Ana 2016. Methodology: The present investigation is of a descriptive-quantitative type that allowed fulfilling the proposed objective, the sample was constituted by 73 adolescent parents. The applied technique was the survey and as a questionnaire to investigate the information about the knowledge, attitudes and practices of male adolescents who have been parents or who are at the “Daniel Hermida” Educational Unit. Use of Results: 61% of the adolescents in the present study are in the age group of 16 to 18 years and are of the baccalaureate level, residing the majority (67%) in the rural areas. 56% have unfavorable attitudes regarding paternity and the greater information they receive from the mother, being deficient that provided by the educational institution, society and the centers of services of family planning. The practices of the adolescent father were not good because the majority was not in the accompaniment of prenatal consultations
