| Abstract: | The project arises from the need from the authorities of the city of Giron to the University of Cuenca, to work in the municipal swimming pool, which has facilities that are in poor condition in addition to being the result of improvisations and adjustments without technical sustenance.
The land was used as a pool about 50 years ago, after it ceased to function as a drinking water treatment plant, which was divided into two lots, one of them destined for the current swimming pool.
The municipality asign for the intervention the complete property corresponding to the old water plant, where there are constructions corresponding to the old indicated use.
Parallel to the studies that are carried out in the field, the needs are determined by the people of Giron in terms of recreation and quality spaces for public use.
The Project seeks through the architectural intervention, to satisfy the need of the people while at the same time to enhance the land that is wasted, also improving the service provided by the municipality with the current facilities of the pool, without ignoring the place where the design is developed with its particularities, thus improving the quality of life of the Gironians offering more opportunities for recreation. |
| Description: | El anteproyecto surge a partir de la necesidad expresada por las autoridades del Cantón Girón hacia la Universidad de Cuenca, para intervenir arquitectónicamente en la piscina municipal, que cuenta con instalaciones que se encuentran en malas condiciones además de ser el resultado de improvisaciones y adecuaciones sin sustento técnico.
El predio adquirió el uso de piscina hace 50 años atrás aproximadamente, después que dejase de funcionar como planta de tratamiento de agua potable, la misma que fue dividida en dos predios, destinando uno de ellos para la actual piscina.
El municipio destina para la intervención el predio completo correspondiente a la antigua planta de agua, en donde se encuentran construcciones correspondientes al uso antiguo indicado.
Paralelamente a los estudios que se realizan en el terreno se determina necesidades expresadas por el pueblo gironense en cuanto a recreación y espacios de calidad para el uso público.
Se busca mediante la intervención arquitectónica satisfacer la necesidad del pueblo al mismo tiempo de potencializar al terreno que se encuentra desperdiciado, mejorando también el servicio que presta el municipio con las instalaciones actuales de la piscina, sin desconocer el lugar donde se desarrolla el diseño con sus particularidades, mejorando de esta manera la calidad de vida de los gironenses ofreciendo más oportunidades para la recreación. |
