Estudio enfocado al sector de transporte y su relación con las remesas de migrantes internacionales en el cantón de Santa Isabel de la provincia del Azuay

Abstract

According to studies conducted in reference to the migratory population of the canton of Santa Isabel, the result was that a great percentage of the inhabitants have migrated to first world countries in search of work in order to better their economic situation and send remittances to their family members in their country of origin, and this behavior is continuous; as in the case of Ecuador, in the province of Azuay and especially in the canton of Santa Isabel where the investigation of this problem will be carried out. In this sense, the object of the investigation is to achieve an emerging and necessary study in order to know actually where their economic funds are being destined, to know in which way this has affected the ground transportation sector, their social, economic, political and psychological effects, within a timeframe of progressive migration from the year 1996 until the present, and to deliver possible solutions to the diverse issues to the canton on the subject. And finally, to determine the consequences that reflect the possible solutions that this study indicates, and to determine the viability of the same, by way of the due promotion of public policies on behalf of the Autonomous Decentralized Government Municipality of Santa Isabel, in order to take mid and long term measures to transform the actual cantonal transportation situation and the repercussion it has had on emigration.
