dc.description.abstract | Introduction. The anatomy of the root canal in these roots is very complex and unpredictable, so for endodontic treatment can succeed as restorative treatment; is necessary to know the internal morphology and locate all root canals, clean and completely seal them with a suitable material. Objective. To determine the prevalence of an anatomical variant on the mandibular molars, this supernumerary root is typically distributed lingually and was termed radix entomolaris, or in a location buccal called radix paramolaris. Avoid errors during endodontic treatment procedure requires a clinical approach adapted for the diagnosis and treatment of root canal. Materials and methods. This study analyzed 290 CT scans cone beam to determine the prevalence of a third root in lower molars, using a database. Results. The prevalence found in this study was of 0.34 % in a male patient | es_ES |
