| dc.description | El presente estudio tiene como objetivo estimar la magnitud y los factores que inciden en los commuting inter-cantonales en el Ecuador, así como su relación con el Desarrollo Económico Local. La estimación del número de personas que se trasladan entre diferentes cantones por motivos laborales (commuting) se obtiene a través del tratamiento de información presentada en la Encuesta Nacional de Empleo, Desempleo y Subempleo (ENEMDU) semestral a junio de 2015. Por otra parte, la determinación de los factores que influyen en el commuting se realiza a través de un modelo logit multinivel, que permite combinar información tanto a nivel individual como cantonal. Los resultados obtenidos muestran que en el Ecuador el commutingpresenta mayor relevancia que la emigración interna y se ve influenciado tanto por factores individuales como contextuales. Los determinantes individuales que inciden en las decisiones de conmutar son el género, la edad, el estado civil y la rama de actividad a la que se dedican. En cuanto a los determinantes cantonales, el coeficiente de especialización (una medida del Valor Agregado Bruto) y la incidencia de pobreza, influyen significativamente en el commuting. | es_ES |
| dc.description.abstract | This study aims to estimate the magnitude and the factors affecting the inter-cantonal commuting in Ecuador, as well as their relationship with the Local Economic Development. The estimated number of people moving between different cantons for work (commuting) is obtained through the processing of information presented in the National Survey of Employment, Unemployment and Underemployment (ENEMDU), biannual to June 2015. Moreover, determination of the factors that influence commuting is done through a multilevel logit model that combines information both individually and cantonal. The results show that in Ecuador the commuting has more relevance than internal migration and it is influenced by both individual and contextual factors. Individual determinants that influence the decisions of the commuting are gender, age, marital status and branch of activity that they do. As to the cantonal determinants, the coefficient of specialization (a measure of Gross Value Added) and the incidence of poverty, significantly influence the commuting. | es_ES |
