dc.description | ANTECEDENTES: Determinar la prevalencia de una enfermedad permite describir un fenómeno de salud e identificar su frecuencia. En el cantón El Tambo, datos determinados por el Centro de Salud, 2008, indican que las IVU ocupan un sexto lugar de frecuencia, mientras la OMS, 2012 las determinó como la cuarta causa de muerte en el Ecuador (1) (2). OBJETIVO: Determinar la prevalencia de infección de vías urinarias, mediante el examen elemental y microscópico de orina y factores de riesgo asociados, en los habitantes de Coyoctor, de octubre 2015 a abril 2016, Tambo - Cañar. METODOLOGÍA: El estudio fue descriptivo de corte transversal, realizado en la comunidad de Coyoctor, con una población de 264 habitantes, de los cuales, al aplicar la fórmula se obtuvo una muestra de 157. Los participantes firmaron un consentimiento y asentimiento informado, llenaron una encuesta con datos de filiación e información afín al estudio. Se realizó el examen elemental y microscópico de orina que aportó información valiosa y se determinó la prevalencia de IVU en la población estudiada. RESULTADOS: El 13,4% de los habitantes de Coyoctor presenta infección urinaria, con un 19% en casi todos los grupos de edad, salvo el de 30 – 39 años con el 9,5% y mayores a 60 años con el 14,3%, predominó con el 85,7% el género femenino; los malos hábitos de higiene representa el 33,3% de limpieza inadecuada luego de la defecación y el 28,6% de aseo intimo deficiente | es_ES |
dc.description.abstract | ANTECEDENTS: To determine the prevalence of a disease allows a description and identification of its frequency. In Tambo canton, data provided by the health center, 2008 demonstrate that Via Urinary Infection occupied sixth place of frequency. Meanwhile the World Organization of health, 2012 determined that it is the fourth cause of death in Ecuador (1, 2). OBJECTIVE: To determine the prevalence of urinary tract infections through urine microscope elemental testing and risk factors associated to the population of Coyoctor from October 2015 to April 2016, Tambo-Cañar. METHODOLOGY: The research was descriptive, cross-section, carried out in Coyoctor community to a population of 264 habitants, from which, after applying the formula, 157 samples were received. The participants signed a consent and assent form. They filled out a survey with affiliation data and information aimed for the case study. Elemental and microscopic urine exams were performed that provide pivotal information and the prevalence of via urinary infection in the population studied was determined. RESULTS: 13.4% of Coyoctor habitants presented urinary infections, with 19% in almost all groups of ages, except 30-39 year olds with 9.5% and older than 60 with 14.3%.
