Frecuencia y características clínicas de las pacientes con diagnóstico de infertilidad/esterilidad de la consulta externa de ginecología del Hospital Vicente Corral Moscoso, enero 2011 a diciembre 2015

Abstract

BACKGROUND: Procreation is a fundamental pillar of the home and society, because a child is socially expected, but not always it is true, because infertility / sterility can afecctt to one spouse or both. It is estimated that infertility / Infertility affects 10 to 20% of the population of reproductive age (1), 50% female cause, cause 30% of male and 20% of mixed cause. (2).

OBJECTIVE: To determine the frequency and clinical characteristics of patients diagnosed with infertility / sterility in outpatient gynecology Vicente Corral Moscoso Hospital, periods January 2011-December 2015.

DESIGN METHODOLOGY: The study was retrospective descriptive. The universe was 216 medical records of patients treated in outpatient Gynecology HVCM, period January 2011-December 2015, the data were tabulated in the SPSS 2.0, analyzed and summarized by tables program.

RESULTS: The sample consisted of 216 patients with infertility / sterility diagnostic. The 86.57% was from Azuay, 30.09% came first specialist between 31 to 35 years, with time sterility of 1 to 5 years 74%, 23.61% decided to start the conception between 31 and 35 years. The age of onset of sexual life was 16 to 20 years in a 47.22%. 40.3% were overweight, 77.3% was not exposed to any toxic. The 43.06% presented no gynecological pathology. The 80.56% did not present any systemic pathology and 42.13% did not use any contraceptive method
