| es_ES |
dc.description.abstract | A factor to take in consideration for a successful endodontic treatment is an accurate preparation of the third mesiobucal canal of the mandibular first molars. First of all, an in vitro study was performed to compare the removal dentin produced by Gates Glidden (GG) and LA Axxess (LA) drills on the thinnest layer of the dentin thickness measure in the risk area. Ninety mesiobucal canals of the mandibular first molars were randomly categorized into two groups, each group, of 45 canals; the roots were sectioned at 3mm from the cementoenamel junction. In addition, CT–scan images were captured, and the dentin thickness was measured in milimetres before and after the instrumentation with the QR NNT 2.21 software. In fact, date were statistically analyzed using Mann-Whitney U test. LA Axxess drills showed more removal on dentin thickness of the cervical mesiobucal canal than the Gates Glidden drills, although, the difference was not statistically significant (p=0.009). Hence, it is concluded that the use of either of the two tested drills renders similar result. | es_ES |
