Violencia contra la mujer en el contexto intrafamiliar

Abstract

This monograph work is about violence against women in the domestic context, no distinction of race, religion, social status, etc. The principal objective of this work is to study the vulnerability situation of women in the familiar nucleus in order to promote the respect and compliment of their rights. In the first chapter we are going to talk about general concepts related to violence against women such as: types, causes, consequences, cycles, etc. In the second chapter we will present the rights that benefit women victims of violence both in the national system, as internationally, and the different efforts made by the State to prevent and punish this fact. Ecuadorian government has been creating and developing a series of standards and laws to prevent and guarantee the protection of rights of women and the family, and at the same time, punish acts of abuse committed by the aggressor. For the application of these rules and laws, the state in coordination with the competent authorities who determine the law against violence have been working on processes of awareness, protection of the fundamental rights of women; and, in case of abuse, penalizing the aggressor according to the law and customary laws governing by the state. Finally, we discuss about the institutions involved in the issue of violence against women, the whole process of accompaniment, the model of comprehensive care for women victims of violence and the actions of each member of the multidisciplinary team such as: Psychologists, Lawyers and Social Workers.
