Condiciones sociodemográficas, discriminación, acceso a la atención de salud y cumplimiento de los derechoshumanos de la Comunidad GLBTI en Cuenca-Ecuador 2014

Abstract

Background: Information on the subject within the city is small so it was necessary to conduct a study on the socio-demographic conditions, discrimination, health and fulfillment of human rights within the LGBTI community in the city of Cuenca. General Objective: To determine the sociodemographic conditions, discrimination, health and fulfillment of human rights of LGBTI community in Cuenca - Ecuador 2014 Methodology: A cross descriptive where the universe was composed of persons belonging to the silhouette organizations X, Green Balancing and Inclusive Cuenca same as were 96 people, the art that the interview was used was performed in which the research instrument It was valued by the INEC modified form for our study, for tabulation and analysis using Microsoft Excel program. Results and Conclusion: It was determined that 32.29% of the study population are between 22 and 27 years, 68.75% are single, the 30.21% had completed high school, and 68.75% are unemployed. As for the characteristics of health services was evident that 56.25% were attending public hospital, 26.64% went to health services in the last three months and 7.29% never went to medical care home cause for not attending was no time (25%). It was found that there is discrimination in education, employment and health family environment being more noticeable educated with 27.3%. They evidenced a 84.46% has knowledge about human rights with 41.80% who knows about the right to equal 31.22% and 26.98% with knowledge of the right to freedom and dignity respectively. Finally it was found that 50% of respondents were gay, bisexual 18.75% 16.76% the lesbians.
