dc.description | La principal influencia de la televisión reside en su papel demasiado activo en la formación del comportamiento de los niños sin ninguna mediación de reflexión contra la manipulación de la comunicación. El presente trabajo estudia la influencia de la televisión en el rendimiento escolar y estado nutricional de niños y niñas de la escuela Manuel Muñoz Cueva de la ciudad de Cuenca. En 77 niños, con edades entre; 7 y 12 años, se estudiaron las variables; edad, tiempo frente al televisor, tipo de programación, influencia de los niños, papel familiar, estado socioeconómico familiar, estado nutricional y rendimiento escolar. Los resultados 98.7 por ciento de las familias, son clase social baja y media; 96.1 por ciento poseen televisión, siendo los programas más observados: novelas, dibujos animados y comedias. El 55 por ciento presentan desnutrición, sin importar el número de horas diarias que ven telvisión; atribuimos este hecho a un factor multicausal. dc.description.abstract | The main influence of television is its overly active role in shaping the behavior of children without any mediation of reflection against the manipulation of the media. This paper studies the influence of television on school performance and nutritional status of children in the school Manuel Muñoz Cave Cuenca. In 77 children, aged; 7 and 12 years, were studied variables; old TV time, programming type, influence of children, family roles, family socioeconomic status, nutritional status and school performance.
