Discapacidades en la parroquia de San Sebastián de la ciudad de Cuenca 2004

Abstract

Studied the frequency and distribution of the epidemiological characteristics of the study object and sets the rates of prevalence of disability in the parish of San Sebastián of the province of Azuay Cuenca canton. It was chosen as universe the inhabitants of the parish of a total of 28,945 people. As will the 333 families, and surveys were conducted. The results indicate that 23 disabled (6.9), of which the female is 12 (52.17) and 11 males (47.825) A rate of occurrence of disabilities among 0-9 years (43 7), from 10 -19 years and between 50-59 years the percentage is equal (13.04) of other ranges is very minor. The disability affects groups with incomplete primary education (43.5, higher education 17,4y complete primary and incomplete secondary (13.0). Most have no occupation (47.8) to suffer disability before age 190 years .; and in that occupation if they are professionals, scientists and intellectuals, and workers in services and trade and market vendors (13), 43.5 unemployment are the most frequent illnesses associated are: traumatic, Events cerebrovascular, Down syndrome, in that order.
