Abstract: | Objective: to determine the nutritional status and its relationship with food consumption of children 3 to 12 years, of the community education center Rumiñahui Quilloac Cañar 2014.
Material and methods: this research is descriptive, We worked with a finite universe comprised 159 children aged 3 to 12 years of CEC Rumiñahui, the techniques used were observation and interview and as an instrument an application form developed and validated by the authors. The data were processed and analyzed using statistical software SPSS and Excel. To ensure the ethical aspects of research was applied consent informing the representatives of children. The data are represented in tables with their respective descriptive analysis.
Results: the 38, 10% of children aged 6 to 9 with a weight of 15 – 30 kg. which is within the normal parameters, a 38,09% of 6 – 9 years have a size of 100 to 130cm. which are within the normal; the 38,08% of 6 – 9 years have a normal IMC ranging from 15 to 21, a 70,75% of 3 – 12 years have a normal nutritional status and 29,24% ingest food 4 times a day. The 37,67% of children 6 to 12 years the 19,48% consume of 1500 to 2000 calories being their caloric needs of 1828,30 to 2340 and 31,42% of girls aged 3 to 9 years, the 20% consume 1500 – 2000 calories in 24 hours being their caloric needs of 1330 to 1697,8 indicating a normal calorie intake of children.
Conclusions: there is a direct relationship between food consumption and nutritional status of children in the school community Rumiñahui, confirming existing knowledge in their parents or representatives about healthy nutrition. |
Description: | Objetivo: determinar el estado nutricional y su relación con el consumo de alimentos de los niños/as de 3 a 12 años del “Centro Educativo Comunitario Rumiñahui” Quilloac. Cañar 2014.
Material y Métodos: la presente investigación es de tipo descriptiva, se trabajó con un universo finito conformado por 159 niños/as de 3 a 12 años del “CEC Rumiñahui” “Quilloac”. Las técnicas utilizadas fueron: observación y entrevista, y como instrumento un formulario elaborado y validado por las autoras. Los datos se procesaron y analizaron mediante los programas estadísticos, SPSS y Excel. Para garantizar los aspectos éticos de la investigación se aplicó el consentimiento informado a los representantes de los niños. Los datos son presentados en tablas con sus respectivos análisis descriptivos.
Resultados: el 38,10% de niños/as de 6 a 9 años se encuentran con un peso de 15 a 30kg que se encuentra dentro de los parámetros normales; un 38,09% de 6 a 9 años presentan una talla de 100 a 130cm que se encuentra dentro de lo normal; el 38,08% de 6 a 9 años presentan un IMC normal que va de 15 a 21; un 70,75% de 3 a 12 años tienen un estado nutricional normal y el 29,24% presentan sobrepeso; en cuanto a la frecuencia alimentaria el 29,24% ingieren alimentos 4 veces al día. Del 37,67% de niños de 6 a 12 años, el 19,48% consumen de 1500 a 2000 cal siendo sus necesidades calóricas de 1828,30 a 2340 y del 31,42% de niñas de 3 a 9 años, el 20% consumen calorías de 1500 a 2000 en 24 horas, siendo sus necesidades calóricas de 1330 a 1697,8, lo que indica un consumo normal de calorías de los niños/as.
Conclusiones: existe una relación directa entre el consumo de alimentos y el estado nutricional de los niños/as del “Centro Educativo Comunitario Rumiñahui”, lo que ratifica el conocimiento existente en sus padres o representantes sobre una alimentación saludable. |
