Análisis de factibilidad de generación eléctrica a pie de la presa de Chanlud

Abstract

This project has a main objective to analyze the technicals and economics aspects in order to improve the Chanlud dam operation by using the bottom outlet for power generation. For the diagnostic of the dam'scurrent status, a statistical study is performed during the last four years and its projection, obtaining this way a basic study for the flow of water level and height the dam. Based on the dam'sresearch and the characteristic that shows, it could be determined the turbine's power and selection. However, the generator's selection develops two studies, one of them synchronous generation and the other is induction generation; the reason why the selection of the generator develops two studies, is because the variation of the flow it's minimum and therefore the two proposals are analyzed. In addition to the construction of the powerhouse, there are three alternatives that are considered, due to the disadvantages presented in each option. Finally, the economic and financial evaluation of the different alternatives is performed, resulting as more viable option to build the powerhouse next to the catchment to Tuñi reservoir, with two synchronous generation equipment including a basic study of the communication system and protections of the selected alternative.
