Características clínicas de displasia del desarrollo de la cadera en niños/as menores de 18 meses que fueron atendidos en consulta externa del Hospital Regional “Vicente Corral Moscoso” período 2008 -2012

Abstract

Objective: To determine the clinical characteristics of Developmental Dysplasia of Hip in Children under 18 months who were seen at the outpatient department of the "Vicente Corral Moscoso" Regional Hospital between period 2008 -2012

Method: A descriptive study, in which a form for data collection will be used from the medical records of children under 18 months of age with a diagnosis of hip dysplasia in the Regional Hospital "Vicente Corral Moscoso "in 2008-2012. The statistical analysis used frequencies and percentages. The tabulation will be represented through simple tables and crosstabs.

Results: 261 patients with a diagnosis of hip dysplasia in development were identified within the study period 2008-2012. The most common age of DDH was 1-6 months to 69.3% and the female sex was affected with 77,2%. The DDH was higher in patients: with maternal age between 21-34 years; with 38-40 weeks of gestation; born to vaginal delivery; with mothers who have had two pregnancies; with cephalic presentation and birth weight between 2600 and 3500 grams, family history of dysplasia occurred in 4.6% of patients with DDH and malformations in 2.7%, maternal age was not associated with the presentation of malformations in patients with DDH.
